This Week’s Gulf Shores, Orange Beach & Pensacola Saltwater Fishing Report
September 5-6, 2026
The first signs of the fall transition are showing up along the Gulf Coast. Water temperatures have eased to around 86 degrees, and bait is gathering around the passes, beaches, bridge structure, bay roll-downs, and the 25- to 40-foot zone outside the second sandbar. That gives anglers several good choices this weekend: work flounder, speckled trout, and redfish in the bays; target redfish, pompano, and bluefish from the sand; follow Spanish mackerel and other pelagics near the beach; or fish state-water reefs and larger wrecks for red snapper and amberjack.
